GLUCKSTADT -- The Clinton High School Women's Basketball team is growing accustomed to winning at this point in the season.
Carrying a seven-game winning streak into their Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) District 2-7A opener, Clinton continued its winning ways in the games that count on Tuesday night.
The Lady Arrows (13-2, 1-0 District 2-7A) used its consistent defense, collecting nine steals and nine blocks, against the Germantown Lady Mavericks for a 42-34 road victory at Germantown High School. The win gave Pearlene Fairley and her Lady Arrows their eighth consecutive triumph.
Clinton knocked down five 3-pointers and shot 38-percent from the field against the Lady Mavericks. Clinton won the rebound battle over Germantown, 21-19, as well.
The Lady Arrows led 23-19 at halftime.
