Clinton Lady Arrow Jatoi Johnson took a charge against a driving Raymond Lady Ranger during the second quarter on Friday night. The defensive effort garnered a loud cheer from the Clinton Head Women's Basketball Coach Pearline Fairley and the Lady Arrows' bench.

It was defensive efforts like Johnson's that had Raymond in an offensive pretzel as the Lady Arrows put the game well out of reach before the intermission.

Clinton blanked the Lady Rangers in the second quarter, outscoring their guests 21-0 in the eight minutes, and put a dominant stamp on a 55-17 win at Arrow Gym. The Lady Arrows improved their overall record to 6-2.

Following their five-game winning streak being snapped at the hands of Brandon on Tuesday night, the Lady Arrows demolished the Lady Rangers. Johnson scored eight of her 15 points in the first quarter, helping her team get to a 10-1 advantage with 2:49 remaining in the quarter.

Clinton carried a 13-5 advantage into the second when its high-press defense wreaked havoc on the visitors. Lacey Davis added eight of her 12 points during the quarter, and five other Lady Arrows contributed the other 13 points in the rout. The red and black led 34-5 at halftime.

With a running clock for the majority of the final two quarters, Clinton still outpaced Raymond 21-12 during the second half.

Aria Jones was third leading scorer and scored seven points in the 38-point win.
