The Lady Arrows Soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Northwest Rankin on Tuesday night at Arrow Field. The loss drops the Lady Arrows to a record of 12-4-2 for the regular season.
The lone goal of the match came late in the 1st half as the Lady Cougars took advantage of a Lady Arrows penalty and converted the penalty kick from the spot to give the Cougars their 1-0 lead.
Head Coach Elliot Rimmer said of his team's performance, "We got we were looking for as coaches out of this game. Our girls were incredibly physical and I feel like we held our own in a lot of capacities throughout the match. This is the perfect match to look back on as we prepare for next week. There was a great playoff atmosphere that we need to get ready. We will get back to work and prepare for our first round matchup."
The Lady Arrows will open the MHSAA 7A playoffs next Tuesday, February 6, at home. Kickoff will be at 5 PM. While official brackets have not been revealed, the likely opponent will be the Lady Tigers of Hernando High School.
