The Lady Arrows Soccer team fell to the Madison Central Lady Jaguars on Monday night in Madison by a score of 1-0 in extra time.  The loss drops the Lady Arrows to a record of 12-2-2 overall and 6-1 in Region 2-7A.

Throughout the entirety of regulation, the game remained scoreless with limited chances for both teams.  Senior goalkeeper Sarah Polk kept a clean sheet with a few great saves to keep the ball out of the net.  Both defenses played very well and did not allow too many possessions to end up in the final third of the field.  Just before halftime, the Lady Arrows got a shot on goal that was deflected by the keeper and should have led to a corner kick, but was missed and the two teams went to halftime at a score of 0-0.

In the second half, it was more of the same.  The Lady Arrows' defense stood strong throughout, making sure to keep the Lady Arrows in the game.  The 2nd half left the game scoreless, sending the game into the most predictable outcome in a match between the Lady Arrows and Lady Jaguars over the past 5 seasons.

In overtime, the Lady Jaguars were able to break the scoreless tie early in the first period.  While the Lady Arrows played their hearts out to create scoring opportunities over the next 15 minutes of overtime, the Lady Jaguars were able to keep the ball out of the net and the final score was 1-0.

The Lady Arrows return to action at home on Thursday night as they play host to the Tupelo Golden Wave in the final Region 2-7A match of the season.  Kickoff will be pushed up to 5 PM to allow for long travel times for the Golden Wave.
