In the second half, the Lady Arrows took advantage of that momentum and pulled away from Germantown. Sophomore
Kayla Jones added to her impressive goals total by putting one in the back of the net in the 48th minute off of a beautiful long pass from Senior
Mckenzie Price. Senior
Lauren Warner scored the third goal of the night for the Lady Arrows in the 64th minute on a loose ball in the box. In the 70th minute, Sophomore
Ruby Acy added the final tally for the Lady Arrows.
Head Coach Elliot Rimmer said of his team's performance, "Senior night is always an emotional night as we recognize and celebrate what our seniors have done for the program, but the girls did an excellent job of taking care of business first and clinching one of the hosting spots for the first round of playoffs. Germantown always offers up a great matchup physically but our girls showed their quality tonight and executed the game plan well, with the halftime adjustments really proving to be the difference in this one."
The Lady Arrows also celebrated Senior Night following the match on Thursday night. Nine members of the program were honored with their families as this class has set a high standard of excellence for the program.
Rimmer said of his seniors, "This senior class means so much to me as they are the group that really began their high school careers at the same time as I took over here at Clinton. They have been the backbone of this team for years now, and to see them succeeding and preparing for the next phase of their lives is such a rewarding experience. I'm excited to see what they achieve going forward, and I'm excited to see what we are able to accomplish as we move into the last few games of the regular season and prepare to make a run at it."
