TUPELO -- The Clinton High School men's cross country team placed third at the ON Running Tupelo Invitational on Saturday, September 12, at Tupelo High School.
Godwin Onyia paced the Arrows, finishing sixth overall with a time of 16:45 in the 5000m race.
Elijah Waldo-Speth followed in 15th place at 17:28, while
Will Kennedy finished 16th with a time of 17:29.
Micah Kieffer and
Coleman Finch completed Clinton's scoring five, placing 22nd and 32nd, respectively.
Clinton's depth continued beyond its scoring five as
Ezra Connelly,
Matthew Harrison, and
Daniel Dolson also finished inside the top 50, giving the Arrows eight inside the top-50 finishers.
Clinton finished with 90 points, placing behind team champion Oxford and runner-up Tupelo. The Arrows posted an average time of 17:33 with a team spread of 1:21.
In the two-mile middle school race, the Clinton Junior High School boys' team placed fifth.
Michael Onyia paced CJHS, finishing 12th overall with a time of 12:14.
Adrian Brown followed in 19th place at 12:26, while
Jaden Dasary finished 22nd with a time of 12:37.
Lincoln Strickler and Landon Jones completed CJHS' scoring five.

Clinton returns to action on Saturday, September 19, at the Valhalla Invitational in Vicksburg.
