BRANDON -- The Clinton High School men's golf team earned its first varsity top-five finish of the season at the NWR Cougar Invitational on Wednesday, September 9, at Bay Pointe Resort and Golf Club.

The Arrows finished fourth in the team standings, combining for a team score of 457 over the 18-hole event.

Parker Cole paced Clinton with a season-best round of 84, finishing tied for seventh individually. The senior shaved off four strokes off his previous best round of the season.

The senior shot 5-over on the front nine before finishing the back nine at 7-over.

Anderson Schoggin and Maddox Walker followed with matching rounds of 92, tying for 19th. Ben Brunson carded a 93 to to finish 22nd.

Cooper Smith added a round of 96, while Robert Farr finished with a 98 for the Arrows, completing the scoring rounds.

Clinton placed four golfers inside the individual top 25, while all six Arrows broke the 100-stroke mark. The fourth-place team finish marked Clinton's first varsity top-five showing of the season.

The Arrows return to the course on Tuesday, September 15, as they host the Clinton Invitational at Live Oaks Golf Club in Jackson.
