CLINTON -- The Clinton High School volleyball team opened the 2026 home schedule in emphatic fashion on Tuesday night, defeating Ridgeland in straight sets at Arrow Gym.

The Lady Arrows earned the sweep by scores of 25-17, 25-14, and 25-21, earning the first win of the season.

Clinton's service game proved to be a difference-maker, finishing with nine aces. Junior Tenley Prestwood paced the effort with six aces, including a pivotal seven-point service run in the opening set. Jayla Hicks added two aces, while Maryan Ducksworth contributed one.

At the net, Taylor Finley led the Lady Arrows with 10 kills, and Aubrey Joiner added six as Clinton's attack kept Ridgeland on its heels throughout the match.

After falling behind early in the opening set, Clinton responded behind Prestwood serving run to seize momentum and claim a 25-17 victory. The Lady Arrows carried that momentum into the second set, pulling away for a convincing 25-14 win before fending off a late Ridgeland rally to secure the match with a 25-21 third-set victory.
