MADISON -- The Clinton High School men's golf team continued its early-season scoring improvement behind a pair of strong individual performances at the St. Andrew's Invitational on Thursday, August 27, at Lake Caroline Golf Course.
The Arrows finished eighth in the team standings, combining for a team score of 361 over the 18-hole event.
Parker Cole and
Robert Farr paced Clinton with matching rounds of 88, finishing tied for 33rd individually.
Cole rebounded from a rough start on the front nine with an impressive finish, carding a 2-over to secure the senior's lowest score of the young campaign. Farr delivered a consistent performance throughout his round, shooting a plus-8 on both the front and back nines.
Maddox Walker followed with a 92, finishing 41st.
Jay Renick carded a 93 to complete Clinton's four scoring rounds.
Cooper Smith finished with a 94, while
Anderson Schoggin added a round of 98 for the Arrows.
Clinton has improved its team score in each of its three events this season. After opening the campaign with a 365 at Tunica National, the Arrows carded a 362 at the Mavericks Invitational before lowering their score to Thursday's 361.
