CLINTON -- The Clinton Junior High School (CJHS) cross country girls and boys teams finished on the podium at the Clinton Junior Arrows Meet held on Thursday, August 20, at Clinton High School.
The Lady Arrows placed second, while the Arrows finished third in the 3000-meter race that wound through the surrounding woods and fields.
AvaKate Boone led the Lady Arrows with a fourth-place individual finish, completing the course in 14:14.4.
Anna Dear placed sixth with a time of 14:37.8, while
Norah Byars placed 13th with a 15:43.8 time.
Mirabel Nohra placed 24th, and
Avery Harrison finished in 27th place, rounding out the five scoring runners for the Lady Arrows.
On the boys' side,
Adrian Brown paced the Arrows, finishing fifth with a time of 12:05.3.
Michael Onyia in sixth place at 12:09.4, while
Jaden Dasary in 26th at 13:39.1.
John Chittom and
Lincoln Strickler completed Clinton's scoring five with back-to-back finishes. Chittom placed 28th and Strickler placed 29th.

The Clinton High School and CJHS cross country teams compete in Pearl High School's Southern Heatwave Classic this Saturday in Brandon. The races begin at 8 a.m.
