CLINTON -- The Clinton High School Bowling teams closed out their regular seasons Thursday evening, sweeping Ridgeland at Indian Lanes.
The Lady Arrow Kingpins and the Arrow Kingpins each rolled to 6-0 victories over the Titans, capping the regular season with matching 10-1 overall records.
The night also marked special milestones for seniors
Laila James and
Aiden McGloster, who bowled their final frames at Indian Lanes, closing out their home careers as part of Clinton's regular-season finale.
Clinton Head Bowling Coach Les Kelly praised both seniors for their perseverance and leadership.
"Aiden has been a varsity starter for four to five years now," Kelly said. "He's been a consistent presence on the boys' side and someone we've counted on to steady the team with so many younger guys.
"Laila didn't bowl a whole lot until this year," Kelly added. "She couldn't crack the lineup before because we had some really talented bowlers ahead of her, but she stayed the course. She didn't give up or walk away, and now she's contributing for us and will have a chance to be one of our leaders at the district tournament next week."
In the Lady Kingpins' sweep,
Kendall Moore led the way with a three-game pin total of 392, posting games of 126, 135, and 131. James recorded the team's high game of 159, while eighth-grader
Megan Bullock contributed a high game of 138 and a three-game series of 391.
Four Arrow Kingpins powered the men's squad to its spotless match over the Titans.
Isaac Krason turned in a dominant three-game series of 631, including a new personal-best of 240 in his third game.
Aiden McGloster notched a high game of 244, while his brother,
Evan McGloster, scored a high game of 247. In addition to those spectacular performances,
Jake Bell added a high game of 230.
Kelly said the sweep came on an important day for both programs as regional rosters were announced earlier on Thursday.
"We actually announced regional rosters earlier today, so they knew who made it," Kelly said. "We've had some really good scores this year on both boys' and girls' sides. Our challenge has been consistency, which we knew going into the season because we're very young overall."
Kelly noted that postseason competition will present a new level of intensity but expressed confidence in his teams' preparation.
"Regional and state are a different animal -- it's a very intense environment," Kelly said. "We expect some nerves early on from our younger bowlers, but it's a marathon, not a sprint. It's going to be a long day, but if our bowlers do what they've been coached to do and what their ability allows them to do, I fell good that we're going to place just fine.

Clinton now shifts its attention to postseason tournament play, competing in the MHSAA Class III Central Region Tournament at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, at Fannin Lanes in Brandon.
