CLINTON -- The Clinton High School Men's Soccer team delivered a composed performance on Tuesday night, securing a 3-1 decision over the Germantown Mavericks in a Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Region 2-7A match.

Freshman Colton Cox opened the scoring with a brave finish, redirecting Juan Parades' corner kick through a crowded 18-yard box. Germantown responded later in the first half, converting a penalty kick to send the match into halftime tied 1-1.

The Arrows came out flying to begin the second half and quickly seized control. Timothy Graham held up play and slipped Parades behind the Germantown defense, where the senior midfielder calmly finished to the far post for a 2-1 Clinton lead in the 46th minute.

Just four minutes later, Graham played provider again, setting up Bradley Wells, who finished clinically to extend the Arrows' advantage and put the match out of reach.

The win marked a positive response for Clinton after a district loss to Oxford on Saturday, January 10, on the road. With the win, the Arrows improved to 5-2 in Region 2-7A play and 9-4-3 overall.
