The Clinton High School Football team starts its 2025 season with a fall scrimmage against the Vicksburg Gators at 7 p.m. on Friday in Vicksburg.
The Arrows square off against Vicksburg on the campus of Vicksburg High School. It will be the first time for Clinton fans to see the team under the direction of Head Football Coach Hamer Morgan after Fall Camp.
"It's still a lot of teaching," Morgan said about his team's improvement during the Fall Camp. "But we've seen a lot of progress at a lot of positions. We just need to keep getting better every day."
The scrimmage format will feature a varsity quarter, followed by a junior-varsity segment, another varsity quarter, and a final JV segment.
"There's a lot of hunger and excitement for Friday," Tyboris Loftin said about the upcoming scrimmage. "I feel like we have a lot to prove this year. We can be a great team, but just so much to be proven (in this season)."
Clinton and Vicksburg played each other in their fall scrimmage last year, resulting in a 21-20 win for the red and black at Arrow Field. The Arrows finished the 2024 season with a 4-6 overall record, including a 1-3 MHSAA Region 2-7A record.
