BROOKHAVEN -- The Clinton High School Men's Cross Country team grabbed victory in their 2025 debut at the Ole Brook Invitational on Thursday evening.
Despite a thunderstorm that delayed the race's start,
Logan Moore, Godwin Onyia,
Bobby Guillory, and
Daniel Dolson ran themselves into the individual top 10 and helped the Arrows secure their first team competition win of the season in the 5000m race hosted by Brookhaven High School.
Moore, a freshman, ran a 17:21.78 and was the third runner across the finish line. Onyia recorded a 17-minute, 31-second pace for a fourth-place spot, and
Bobby Guillory was the seventh-place finisher with a time of 17:59.
Dolson ran a time of 18 minutes, 12 seconds, which placed the freshman in ninth position.
Adam Boone rounded out the five scoring runners for Clinton with his 11th-place finish -- a time of 18 minutes, 32 seconds.
The Arrows had an outstanding performance in their season's first race. Five other runners joined Moore, Onyia, Guillory, Dolson, and
Adam Boone in the top 30 finishers. The other five Arrows were
Will Kennedy,
Ezra Connelly,
Matthew Harrison,
Dillon Pittman, and
Noah Duncan.
In the middle-school race -- a two-miler -- the CJHS Arrows won the race with
Micah Kieffer as the pace-setter. Kieffer grabbed first place with a time of 11:47.45. Clinton's
Coleman Finch,
Jace Williamson,
Ethan McQueen, and
Adrian Brown were positioned second, third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.
