Arrow Baseball Lands Three Players on All-State Teams

Crain, Dodson, Bates recognized for all-state honors.

After nine players were honored with Region  2-7A season honors, the Clinton High School Baseball team had three players honored by the Mississippi Baseball Coaches Committee on Sunday evening.

Stone Crain and Ethan Dodson were named to the Class 7A First team, and Chad Bates was selected for the Class 7A Second team. Crain, Dodson, and Bates were previously recognized as members of the MHSAA Region 2-7A First team earlier this month.

Crain used 94 at-bats to post a strong .436 batting average. The catcher tallied 41 hits, including 10 doubles, one triple, and six home runs. He had 42 RBIs and scored 10 runs. Defensively, Crain posted a fielding percentage of 99-percent in 209 total changes.

Dodson, who featured at shortstop for the Arrows in the 2025 season, pieced together an outstanding .525 batting average. The Arrow had 53 hits, including 15 doubles, three triples, and two homers. The junior had 44 RBIs and scored 40 runs. Defensively, Dodson had 44 assists, 27 putouts, and was a part of six double plays.

Bates, a center fielder for Clinton, tabulated a .396 batting average in 96 at-bats. He had 38 hits. Bates utilized his speed on the base path, stealing 13 bases with a 92-percent success rate. The center-fielder had 36 runs and 25 RBIs. Defensively, Bates had a fielding percentage of 95-percent.
