Clinton High School senior Ethan Dodson has officially signed a national letter of intent to continue his baseball career at the University of Memphis during a signing ceremony surrounded by family, friends, teammates, and coaches at the Clinton High School Media Center on Wednesday, November 12.

Dodson's journey to Memphis began with a standout 2025 season for the Arrows and an impressive summer showcase season, putting him on the radar of several programs. Dodson's recruitment elevated after the spring and summer season when Memphis extended an offer he could not turn down.

"I just really like everything about (Memphis)," Dodson said. "Over the summer, I did well and that's what really blew me up ... Memphis just feels like home."

During the Arrows' 2025 campaign, Dodson powered Clinton's lineup with a .525 batting average and a 1.374 OPS, collecting 38 singles, 15 doubles, three triples, and two home runs. Dodson drove in 44 runs, scored 40, and was a perfect seven-for-seven in stolen base attempts.

Dodson, a key contributor for the Arrows at his shortstop position, credits the game of baseball for shaping him both mentally and physically throughout his high school career.

"Baseball has helped me mentally and physically," Dodson said. "Coach (Sam) Temple has been like a second dad to me. If I didn't have him, I don't know what I'd do."

Outside of his time with Clinton, Dodson gained valuable experience playing with the Padres Scout Team and TPO Baseball, helping him develop into one of Mississippi's most promising recruits.

Dodson also expressed appreciation for his father's support throughout his baseball and recruiting journey.
