Article from Clinton Public School District's Teacher Targets Blog
The Arrow Hoops Preview idea came from experiences at my previous school. It was always such a fun and memorable basketball season tipoff, and I thought, "Why not bring it here to Clinton High School?"
Our "Meet the Arrows" night is already a premiere event, but I wanted to elevate new efforts for the Clinton Arrows Basketball Program.
This event provides players, families, and those in the community with something exciting to look forward to while also creating a new and lasting tradition that makes the start of basketball season even more special.
The main purpose behind the event is simple, but powerful. First, it brings excitement to the start of basketball season! Nothing gets the energy flowing like a chance to see our athletes in action before the tipoff of the first official game.
Second, it brings everyone together—players from 7th through 12th grade, coaches, families, and fans. It's a time for fellowship, building connections, and showcasing what our program goals are.
And third, it serves as an important fundraiser, which provides us with the resources we need to make the season successful.
The benefits of this event have been incredible. It created a live-game atmosphere for every team, giving players a chance to shine in front of their supporters. Parents and fans loved being able to get a sneak peek of what's coming this season, and it definitely built excitement for what's ahead.
Another major benefit is the way it brought all our athletes together. Kids who might not normally interact got to spend time with each other, building friendships and team spirit across all grades.
Additionally, the money raised gave our program a strong start to the year. Overall, the event not only met its goals but also left everyone excited for the season.
Looking ahead, I'm excited to see this event continue to grow and hopefully become a tradition that our players and community look forward to every single year.
Whether you're a student, teacher, proud alum, parent, or a fan who loves the sound of a swish, you can be part of the action.
Join us for our 2nd Arrow Hoops Preview on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the Clinton High School Gymnasium!
