Jakobe Cavett scored 11 points,
Logan Garner chipped in 10 points, but it was not enough as the Clinton High School Men's Basketball team dropped a tightly-contested match-up to the Madison Central Jaguars, 49-42, in a Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) District 2-7A game on Tuesday night on the campus of Madison Central High School.
Cavett's team-high point total was complemented by the senior's nine rebounds.
Javarius Tyler added eight points.
Trailing by four points, Clinton's pivotal possession of the game ended with a turnover with under 40 seconds remaining. The Arrows had rallied after having faced a 37-29 deficit at the conclusion of the third quarter.
Madison Central was led by Dylan Rowe's 20 points and JP Baldwin's 16 points. The hosts led 17-8 at the first quarter's conclusion and 27-19 at halftime.
