JACKSON -- The Clinton High School Volleyball team started its Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Region 2-7A play with a resounding win on Tuesday night.
Freshmen Joelle Ambrose and Aubrey Joiner combined for 15 service aces, and the Lady Arrows (2-3, 1-0 Region 2-7A) bounced the Murrah Lady Mustangs, 3-0, in the region opener at Murrah High School. Clinton won the three sets with scores of 25-7, 25-10, and 25-20.
Ambrose and Joiner were Clinton's leading serving performers, tallying seven and eight aces, respectively. Taylor Finley and Madison Harris had four attack kills apiece. Clinton setter Mary Preston Bruce collected 14 assists on the night.
For the Lady Arrows defensively, Finley and Joiner had a block each.
Clinton continues its MHSAA Region 2-7A action against the Tupelo Lady Wave this Friday. The game is set for a 6 p.m. start at Clinton High School's gym.
