RIDGELAND -- The Clinton High School Women's Soccer team won a mercy-rule-shortened game against the Ridgeland Lady Titans -- a 7-0 victory -- on Monday night at Ridgeland High School. Six different Lady Arrows scored in the seven-goal romp and first away game of the 2024-25 season.
The Lady Arrows have scored 12 goals in their first two matches this season, following a 5-3 win over the Oxford Lady Chargers on Saturday at Arrow Field.
Kate Crisler opened Clinton's scoring, and
Faith Taylor added her first of two goals off an
Alex Holmes assist, giving the visitors a two-goal advantage 30 minutes into the first half. Then, the Lady Arrows opened the flood gates before halftime as
Ja'Milah Williams and
Mandy Leach, with an assist from
Emily Fortenberry, doubled the lead.
Kayla Jones assisted
Addison White's goal, and White returned an assist to Taylor for a 6-0 scoreline at the intermission.
Zariya Bass assisted
Jasmine Martin's goal, which enacted the mercy rule, with 25 minutes remaining in the game.
