The Clinton High School Football team completes its non-region schedule with a contest against a Hinds-County foe this Friday.
The Arrows (2-3) travel south to Terry High School to take on the Bulldogs (5-0) at 7 p.m. on the campus of THS.
Clinton looks to end a two-game skid as it recovers from a 32-7 loss to the South Panola Tigers last Friday. The down-pouring rain in Batesville caused some havoc for the red and black as South Panola utilized its running game to secure a 20-0 halftime advantage and to burn the clock during the second half, preventing an Arrow comeback.
The Arrows have played a tough slate up to this point of the season. Clinton's opponents' record totals at 44-10. The Arrows are averaging 30.8 points per game, and their opponents are averaging 40.8 points per game.
Terry, a member of the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 6A-Region 3, is led by fifth-year Head Football Coach Kris Thigpen. The Bulldogs have defeated Raymond (42-0), Pure Academy of Tenn. (57-6), Callaway (13-12), Vicksburg (28-14), and Provine (43-0) to perfectly open their 2024 campaign.
SERIES HISTORY
Clinton and Terry have squared off three times on the gridiron. The Arrows lead the series 3-0. Last year's game was a close affair as the Arrows surpassed the Bulldogs, 28-21, at Arrow Field.
