The Clinton Arrows lost to the Grenada Chargers on Friday night by a score of 35-0. The loss drops the Arrows to 0-4 on the season. The win pushes the Chargers to 3-1.
Grenada scored on their opening drive of the game. Following several penalties on both sides, the Chargers completed a short pass to the right side that turned into a 28 yard Touchdown to make the score 7-0.
The Chargers tacked on 21 points in the 2nd quarter to extend their lead to 28-0 by halftime.
Grenada scored one more touchdown in the 2nd half to push the lead to 35-0.
Offensively for the Arrows, a piling up of injuries made it tough to get any momentum. Senior
Veshone Malone led the team in rushing with 11 carries for 52 yards. Senior RB
Jakobe Williams added 10 carries for 45 yards.
Defensively, Sophomore LB
Robsen Neblett led the team in tackles with 7. Sophomore LB
Jaiden Jefferson added 5 tackles, and Senior DL
TJ Spann recorded 4 tackles.
The Arrows return to action at 7 PM next Friday night, September 22, when the South Panola Tigers visit Arrow Drive for HOMECOMING.
