The Clinton Arrows Golf Team finished 13th out of 16 qualifying teams at the MHSAA 7A State Golf Tournament at Deerfield Country Club in Canton on Thursday. The Arrows qualified 4 golfers' scores over 36 holes between 2 rounds on Wednesday and Thursday. The Arrows compiled a score of 707 after shooting a 346 in the 2nd round on Thursday. The 346 was 15 shots better than the opening round score of 361.

Law Whitfield scored a Top 20 finish with 81 on Thursday after an 84 in his opening round on Wednesday to tie for 18th place out of 99 golfers. Whitfield made 4 birdies between his 2 rounds and finished his tournament with a 38 on his last 9 holes.

Walker Raney shot a 177, improving on Thursday as well, shooting an 87 after shooting a 90 in his opening round on Wednesday.

Jax Stover improved 11 shots between his 2 rounds, shooting an 84 on Thursday after shooting a 95 on Wednesday in Round 1.

Grayson Fortenberry and Senior
Gregory Terrell rounded out the scoring with a total of 192 between their 2 rounds. Fortenberry improved 4 strokes in his 2nd round, shooting a 94 in Round 2 after shooting a 98 on Wednesday.
Head Coach Clay Norton said, "Really proud of the way the guys improved over the course of the season. With everyone coming back for next year, the spring and summer will give us a great opportunity to get better."
The future is bright for the Clinton Arrows Golf program with a strong roster returning under the leadership of Coach Norton.
