FLOWOOD -- The Clinton Arrows Swim Team (CAST) showed steady improvement progress at the Madison Central Invitational on Saturday, August 29, at the GRIT Fitness Center.
The Arrows competed against Madison Central, St. Andrew's, Germantown, Northwest Rankin, Brandon, Pearl, and Ridgeland as the women's team placed fifth in the team standings, while the men's team came in fourth.
Ten additional members hit the wall under the wire to qualify for the MHSAA Class III North State Swim Meet to be held on October 4 in Cleveland.
Additionally, the Arrows had three swimmers claim podium finishes along with the men's 400 yard freestyle relay team.
Senior
Arwen Blomgren has become one of CAST's reliable racers early in the 2026 season. Her mom, Tori Blomgren, has enjoyed watching Arwen develop her skills in the pool.
"I love watching the team improve with each meet," Tori said. "The team members are really good at supporting and encouraging each other. This is only Arwen's second year on CAST, but she loves it and has already qualified for North State in one of her events.
"I grew up swimming competitively, so it's been really fun to watch her get into it. She's better than I ever was," Tori added.

CAST Head Coach Marcy Rushing and CAST hope Clinton fans will come support the team at the
Ashlee Sumrall Memorial Meet this Thursday, September 3, at the Clinton YMCA Pool. The meet starts at 6 p.m., and will feature swimmers from CAST, Warren Central, and Northwest Rankin.
