SUMMIT --
Annalise Whitworth homered in the seventh inning and the Clinton High School Softball team pulled away from the North Pike Lady Jaguars in the late innings for a 14-6 win on Monday night.
The Lady Arrows got on the board in the first inning after
Destiny Funchess drew a walk, scoring a run.
Clinton added one run in the second after
Keelyn Constancio singled down the left-field line.
North Pike captured the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the third with a single to center field and a sacrifice fly.
Kaelyn Thames singled to center field, which helped the Lady Arrows tie the game in the top of the fourth.
Clinton broke up the tie with a four-run fifth, 7-3, and a one-run sixth frame extended the lead.
Six more Lady Arrow runs crossed the plate in the seventh to extend the lead to 14-3.
Estrella Constancio doubled, scoring one run, Thames singled, scoring one run, Whitworth homered to left field, plating three runs, and
Hayden-Leigh Holifield lined out, scoring one run.
Ashlen Albritton earned the win for Clinton. The hurler allowed seven hits and three runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking none. Whitworth earned the save.
The Lady Arrows piled up 13 hits in the game.Â

Clinton welcomes the Pearl Lady Pirates on Thursday, March 6th, for their next game. The Junior-Varsity team starts the festivities at 5 p.m., and the Varsity team begins at 6:30 p.m.
