MADISON -- The Clinton High School Softball team dropped a heartbreaker against the Lewisburg Lady Patriots on Saturday.

The game was tied at nine apiece in bottom of the sixth when Annalise Whitworth induced a hit and fielder's choice, but one run scored during the play as the Lady Patriots defeated the Lady Arrows 10-9 at Madison Central High School's Softball Field.

Clinton had six hits, and Lewisburg had seven hits in the 19-run affair.
Whitworth was tagged with the loss for the Lady Arrows. The reliever went three and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on six hits. She struck out two Lady Patriots and walked two. Ashlen Albritton got the start inside the circle and went two and one-third innings for Clinton. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and five runs (two earned), striking out one and walking three.
Estrella Constancio drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Lady Arrows with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Lead-off hitter Mackenzie Cooley paced Cinton with two hits in four at bats.
Clinton jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Estrella Constancio plated a run with a fielder's choice, and Whitworth singled, scoring a pair.

Six more Lady Arrow runs crossed the plate in the third to extend the red and black's advantage to 9-2. Estrella Constancio homered to left field, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, Cailyn Willis singled, scoring one run, and Cooley doubled, scoring another.

The Lady Arrows host the North Pike Lady Jaguars on Tuesday night. The doubleheader starts with a junior-varsity game at 5 p.m. and the Varsity game follows the completion of JV at 6:30 p.m. Both games will be streamed on HudlTV.
