The Clinton High School Softball team dominated the Florence Lady Eagles in the 2025 season home opener on Monday at CHS.

Annalise Whitworth earned her season's first win inside the circle, and the Lady Arrows piled up 18 hits in a 20-1 win over Florence in 4-1/2 innings.

Whitworth surrendered two hits and allowed no runs over three innings, striking out one and walking two. Whitworth's shutout was salvaged when she got out of a one-out, bases-loaded jam in the first inning, coaxing a 6-3 double play to escape any damage.

Ashlen Albritton appeared in two innings of relief for the Lady Arrows.

Mackenzie Cooley drove in five runs on three hits. Cooley doubled in the first. The senior singled and doubled in the 12-run third.

Lead-off batter Estrella Constancio set the tone for Clinton with four hits in five at-bats. Keelyn Constancio, Madison Nelson, Kaelyn Thames, and Whitworth each collected multiple hits in the rout.

Clinton jumped out to a seven-run lead in the first inning. Cooley doubled, scoring two runs, Nelson singled, scoring two runs, Whitworth doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Hayden-Leigh Holifield singled, scoring one run during the frame.

The Lady Arrows added one run in the second after Thames singled to left field.

Clinton's offense exploded with 12 runs in the third. A dropped third strike scored one run, Cooley singled, scoring another, Thames doubled, plating three runs, an error scored one run, Estrella Costancio singled, scoring one run, and Destiny Funchess drew a walk, scoring one run. On her second appearance at the plate, Cooley doubled, scoring two runs, Nelson singled, scoring one run, and Whitworth singled, scoring one run.

The Lady Arrows' next game is against Union High School on Friday at 5 p.m. on the campus of Lake High School.

Clinton's next home game is Tuesday, Feb. 25, against the North Pike Lady Jaguars, following a four-game road trip.
