BRANDON -- The Clinton High School Bowling teams split their matches against Northwest Rankin on Tuesday afternoon at Fannin Lanes.
The Lady Kingpins swept the Lady Cougars, 6-0, while the Kingpins turned in several strong individual performances before ultimately falling to the Cougars, 4-2. Clinton's women improved to 3-0, and the Clinton men fell to 2-1 in the early season.
LADY ARROW KINGPINS 6, NORTHWEST RANKIN 0
McKinley Allen powered the Lady Kingpins with a high game of 175 pins in a 461 series, and
Ruby Martindale continued her consistent form with a 170-pin high game and a 457-pin total.
Owen Reddix added a 141 high game and finished with 333 pins overall.
Clinton controlled the lanes from start to finish, knocking down 1,262 total pins -- 492 more than Northwest Rankin -- to secure the sweep.
ARROW KINGPINS 2, NORTHWEST RANKIN 4
Senior
Aiden McGloster led the way with a 215-pin high game and a 607-pin series, anchoring the effort on the road.
Alex Hardy followed with a strong 211-pin high game and 548-pin total, while
Isaac Krason added a 189 game on his way to a 514 series.
Clinton's other key contributors were
Brenley Blair (175),
Evan McGloster (174), and
Jake Bell (172), each posting solid high games to keep the match tight.
