The Lady Arrows Softball team defeated the Starkville Lady Yellow Jackets for the second time in as many weeks on Tuesday night at Arrow Field by a score of 20-3. The win moves the Lady Arrows to a record of 2-1 in Region 2-7A and 8-5 overall.
The Lady Arrows scored early and often, plating 8 runs in the bottom of the 1st, 2 in the bottom of the 2nd, 7 in the bottom of the 3rd, and 3 in the bottom of the 4th. The game ended after the top of the 5th due to the mercy rule. The Lady Arrows piled up 14 hits on the night, and 5 players had multi-hit games.
At the plate for the Lady Arrows,
Keelyn Constancio went 3-for-4 with a triple, 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
Estrella Constancio went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, 2 runs scored, and an RBI.
Kaelyn Thames went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI.
Hayden-Leigh Holifield went 2-for-3 with a double, 3 runs scored, and 3 RBI.
Ashlen Albritton went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI.
In the circle for the Lady Arrows, Albritton earned the win, pitching 3 innings and giving up only 2 hits and 2 runs to go along with 2 strikeouts. E. Constancio pitched the final 2 innings, giving up 2 hits and 1 unearned run to go along with 3 strikeouts.
The Lady Arrows return to action on Thursday night as they host the Golden Wave of Tupelo in another Region 2-7A clash. JV will begin at 5 PM and Varsity will begin at 6:30.
