The Lady Arrows Softball team racked up 14 hits and 14 runs in a 5-inning 14-3 win over the Lawrence County Cougars on Thursday night.  The win moves the Lady Arrows to a record of 5-3 on the season.

The Lady Arrows started fast and kept their foot on the accelerator on Thursday night.  After the Lady Cougars scored 2 in the top of the 1st, the Lady Arrows responded with 5 of their own.  The Lady Cougars trimmed the lead to 5-3 headed into the bottom of the 2nd before the Lady Arrows added on 3 more.  The Lady Arrows continued to pile on with 2 more in the 3rd and 4 more in the bottom of the 4th before recording the final 3 outs in the top of the 5th to end the game due to mercy rule.

For the Lady Arrows, Keelyn Constancio led the way at the plate going 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and an RBI.  Makenzie Cooley went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.  Estrella Constancio went 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI.  Destiny Funchess also went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.  Anna Raines also had a multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored.

In the circle for the Lady Arrows, Ashlen Albritton earned the win, going 3.0 innings, allowing only 2 hits and 2 earned runs to go along with 3 strikeouts.  E. Constancio pitched the final 2 innings, giving up no hits and striking out 4.

Head Coach Rachel Hurley said of her team's effort, "It was good to see everyone finding a way to contribute and find a way to put up some runs every inning. Pitchers and defense found a way to do their job even when they were tested. Overall it was a great team win and good to be back at home."

The Lady Arrows return to action on Friday at home as they face another set of Cougars, this time from the east in Newton County.  JV will play at 5 and Varsity will play at 5:30.
