The Lady Arrows Softball team dropped a 6-5 decision on Tuesday night at North Pike in Summit, MS. The loss drops the Lady Arrows to a record of 4-3 on the season.
The Lady Arrows attempted a torrid comeback on Tuesday night after the Lady Jaguars scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and 1 more in the bottom of the 2nd inning to go up 6-1. The Lady Arrows would not allow another run, however, and scored 4 runs of their own in the top of the 3rd to trim the lead to 6-5. The final 4 innings were scoreless across the board and the Lady Jaguars held on for the win.
Offensively, the Lady Arrows gathered 8 hits as a group.
Keelyn Constancio,
Makenzie Cooley, and
Destiny Funchess all had multi-hit nights.
Estrella Constancio went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Funchess also drove in 2 runs to go along with her 2 hits.
In the circle for the Lady Arrows,
Ashlen Albritton started and pitched 5.0 innings, giving up 5 earned runs on 7 hits. E. Constancio pitched the final inning for the Lady Arrows, giving up 0 hits and striking out 1.
The Lady Arrows return to action on Thursday v. Lawrence County at home. JV will play at 5 and Varsity at 6:30 PM.
